Biography

Cassie Bartley’s greatest inspiration as an artists was her Great Grandmother, who always saw beauty in nature and created many oil paintings that still hang in her family’s home. Cassie started studying art when she moved to Texas from California, taking every opportunity she could to create. She took every art class available to her through the public school system, and created works of art for people she knew in her community. Cassie chose to pursue an education in fine art.  She attended a private 2- year college, which turned out to be an eye opener – while she had always been recognized as talented, a professor for many of her art classes nearly failed her work because it was not the traditional “vase and orange;” because her work was not a traditional style, and was reprimanded for doing so.
It was then that Cassie realized she would prefer to explore her artistic talents on her own. She quit her formal education as an artist after more than 10 years; she continues to create work at her studio in Tyler.
